Email Broadcasting

Description

Email Broadcasting is the sending of an email message to a list of recipients.

While each email is sent from DataMart's computer network, the sender's name and email addresses are consistent with the email coming directly from the client.

Emails may be in text or HTML format and may include an attachment. The text of the email can be customized with any combination of information from the list of recipients.

How Does It Work

The client provides DataMart with a list of email addresses, the text of the email message, the document to attach to the email messages (if appropriate) and instructions.

The list of email addresses is emailed to DataMart in one of a wide-variety of allowable formats; the most common being an Excel spreadsheet, a comma-delimited ASCII file, an Access table or a .DBF table. DataMart registers the list and upgrades the email address to include contact name. The list can be retained at DataMart for as long as desired.

The email message is emailed to DataMart as a text document, an HTML file, as text in the body of the transmitting email, as a Word document or PDF, or as a graphic image. Any documents to be attached to the email broadcast can be emailed to DataMart as well.

The client establishes a set of default instructions during new client setup. Such things as from name and sender's email addresses are defined. For each broadcast, the client sends such instructions as when to begin the broadcast and whether a proof is required.

Once the broadcast is complete, DataMart faxes or emails the summary and error reporting to the client.
