Sources of Email Addresses

There are at least four tiers of source for email addresses for the business wanting to market its products or services.

1. The most valuable email addresses are those of businesses and individuals with whom you do business or with whom you have relationships.
2. The second tier source is the list of email addresses of prospects that have come to you based on your marketing. The most prominent sources of these addresses would be your website and your networking efforts.
3. There are commercially available specialty lists - which are often opt-in lists. more
4. There are commercially available business lists which are usually an additional product produced by mailing list compilers.

List Maintenance

Email lists require constant maintenance. Email addresses change on a regular basis, new addresses are constantly being added, bounces are recorded, unsubscribe requests must be honored, nonperforming addresses get deleted, and email addresses get appended to mail lists. more
